t.c. matic were a belgian rock band formed in the early 80s by arno hintjens and jean marie aerts (who would go on to produce albums by urban dance squad and absynthe minded). they played a mix of new wave, blues, funk, hard rock, avant garde and even some french chansons. their eclectic mix and experimental approach to music would have a great impact on belgian bands such as deus and zita swoon. their eponymous album t.c. matic from 1981 has their biggest hit >o la la la< on it, a song that can still rock the dance floors today.

with another release that is made to be a soundtrack for sunny open air scenarios, acker records keeps living up to its name and pays tribute to the current summer season. in doing so, the label from mecklenburg one more time steps out of the line, since this release again distinguishes itself by a refreshing otherness. light and easy piano plonking as well as the lascivious french voice of singer rebecca dominate the atmosphere of ici, while its minimal electronic groove discreetly remains in the background. a really tropical feeling evolves in the long version of this track when playful synthesiser chords give rise to the idea of a steel drum. in his remix, mollono.bass manages to combine the very song-orientated approach of the original with a bouncy electronic arrangement. thus he not only creates a lot of dance floor thrust, but also provides the perfect link to rather conventional productions.
